Okanogan hillbilly
Gerald Lee Ames was raised in the western ranch settings of Okanogan
County,  WA.   "When I was a kid,  I remember our field trips were going out
to the livestock cattle auctions.  Everything was about the ranch. We grew up
on the  farm riding " Shem " a hot shot
barrel racing horse,  chasing  steers &
cows, muddy pigs and well ..........
(slow to admit ).........even sheep."

"It's tough work,  the farm life and all,
bucking bales, changing sprinkler pipes,
feeding the livestock, chickens and
milking cows.  It teaches real basic
hard working values."  "You know ,
good old fashioned elbow grease.
You can still find it on the shelf in
some places.-  It's just way in the back."
"Open Roads" is about
keeping the faith in self
freedom.   There are things in
life that can derail folks and
sometimes you just gotta hit
the road.  Go see fresh stuff.

Living true to your smile with
an open heart. Just keeping
things simple and getting back
to one's roots.

I hope you enjoy the journey of
a friendly trail, good friends,
and a course always traveled
on  open roads.

The Real Deal
Everything We Share,  was recorded in
one take live to digital track.    "I wanted
to get the real emotional feel of the song.
It's raw,  and rings true."    The guitar stuff
is a bit of a tribute to Albert Ames from the
Cascade Country Boys, the best darn
gi'tar picker this side of Chet Atkins.
